Ideal People You Should Follow On Twitter

Who Should You Follow On Twitter

Building a community around your Niche on Twitter will strengthen your business and drive more traffic to your website. Using methods like randomly following anyone who follows back or buying followers will end up in hurting your business and wasting your time and money.
You need to connect with the right people who will add value to the community you are trying to build around your niche. So, how do you achieve this? Ask yourself these 3 questions before adding someone and you will end up following the right people and getting the right followers in return.

1. Does the user belongs to the same niche as you?

Thoroughly check a users profile to confirm whether they share similar interests as you or your business. The most common place to check this is by reading their Twitter profile description. Their tweets, pictures and website are another place to know whether they are the one you should be following or not.

2. What are the chances of the user following you back?

If the number of followers and following look similar then there is a high chance that the user will follow you back. As suggested already, make sure the user belongs to the same niche as you and look for other factors like whether the user engages with other Twitter profiles, whether his tweets make sense for your business and how active the user is. There are way too many profiles out there saying “I Follow Back” or something similar like using the hashtag #followback. Most of these users do have a large following but hardly receive any retweet or favorites as all the accounts connected with them are doing nothing but following others and getting followers back. Avoid this pitfall as you will end up being disappointed with zero engagement despite having a significant amount of fans. Also, your profile will then only be suggested to people who do nothing but follow back and you will get suggestions for similar profiles as well. So, stay away from this common Twitter marketing mistake and connect only with the people who benefit you.

3. How will your Twitter News Feed be affected by following this user?

Some popular accounts of both personalities and brands related to your niche would be worth following even if you won’t get a follow back from them. There are many reasons to do so. Following these brands/people on Twitter will let other users (interested in the same niche as you) know that you exist and also have something to share in the same category. But most importantly, you will receive best of the tweets on your Twitter feed from these accounts which will help you stay updated with the latest in your business domain and you can retweet some of the important tweets to let your fans know about the same as well. That’s another reason to look at someone’s previous tweets as you will have an idea of what to expect in your news feed. If the user doesn’t adds value to the content you see on your Twitter homepage then the account may not be worth your follow.

So, just sitting there and posting a tweet everyday won’t bring visitors to your website or help your business to grow. It is a continuous daily effort of following, tweeting and retweeting that will help you get results out of your Twitter Marketing efforts.
